The Network is made up of a group of organizations that seeks to promote effective decentralization and local governance through the promotion of citizens’ participation in decision making and development.

The network is made of both local and international CSOs/NGOs working in local governance. They include organizations and groups with an interest in democratic governance, education, health & HIV AIDS, human rights, environment, agriculture among others. Membership is open to the following categories of organizations:

  • CSOs, research and training institutions working on governance and decentralization issues
  • National and international CSOs

Membership to the network is through application and consideration by the Steering Committee for final ratification by the AGM. Over the last two years, as a result of membership drive, membership of the Network has increased from sixty (60) to two hundred and twenty (220) active members, working in all ten regions of Ghana.
